outWord 1.2 was released this week with a few minor, but important tweaks. Most importantly, you can see your weekly score now! When designing outWord, we couldn’t decide on whether total scores or weekly scores were more important. In any case, they’re both important! Or so we think. Do you agree, disagree, or none of the above? Either way, you should email us, even if it is to just say hello. We like mail. Gobble gobble.

outWord Week 5 Results

Again, we had over 4,000 words this week! Also notice that ‘zoo’ was not the most frequently submitted word.. mind-blowing indeed!

Sorry for the delayed update. outWord 1.2 should be out this week. We found a bug which required us to resubmit to Apple, effectively putting us to the back of the line. We’re also currently working on outWord 1.3 which will hopefully make the map screen easier to use. We’ve gotten requests from our users that letters should be more easily shuffled and that letter order should be maintained across sessions. Do you have a request? If so, you should email us! Here’s something just for fun:  We’ve run a dump of the submitted outWord Words (as of 10-15) through Wordle, and here it is.   Lots of short ones, but some pretty fun ones too.  Glad “abacus” made the list.

You heard it right, folks!  outWord, our first game is available in Apple’s appstore!  Download it here [ links to itunes ] and start working up some words.  Let us know what you think, and if you find any bugs let us know!

It’s been out a little over a day, and we’ve already received some good reviews, both on the store, and by a professional reviewer! AppOfMyEye says: “a fun original game born out of an excellent concept and well executed.  Highly recommended.”  Definitely check out the full review at App of My Eye here.

Meanwhile, we’ve been keeping ourselves busy dreaming up new bits of functionality for outWord and potential new games.  We’ve also taken on a little bit of contract work, to keep us fed.  Meanwhile, school is back in session, so Eric, Ben and I have been splitting our time between phonagle and the books, with Sergio holding down the fort… err, basement.  Stay tuned for updates on what we’ve got cooking.
